Xbox PC App Brings Game Downloads to Arm®-Based Windows 11 PCs

Microsoft has begun rolling out a new update for ARM-powered Windows 11 devices, enhancing the Xbox PC app for gamers on this platform.

Game Downloads Now Supported on Arm®-Based PCs

With this release, Xbox is enabling local game downloads on Arm®-based Windows 11 PCs for the very first time. If you’re part of the Insider community, you can now grab titles directly from the Xbox PC app’s catalog and play them locally — including games available through PC Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate.

Windows and Xbox teams are working together to ensure broad compatibility, and more titles will become available in the coming months. This collaboration aims to bring the full Xbox gaming library to Arm®-based PCs, and Insiders will play a key role in testing these capabilities.

Who Gets the Update?

The new version — 2508.1001.27.0 or later — is currently available to users who are both Windows Insiders and Xbox Insiders with access to the PC Gaming Preview on Arm®-based Windows 11 PCs.

How to Join the PC Gaming Preview

If you’re not yet part of the program but want to try it out, here’s how to get started:

1. Download the Xbox Insider Hub from the Microsoft Store.

2. Sign in with your Microsoft account (the same one you use for gaming).

3. Go to the “Previews” section and select “PC Gaming”, then click Join.

4. Once you’re enrolled, head to the Microsoft Store, check for updates, and look for the Xbox PC app version 1001.27.0 or newer.
